Additive Manufacturing Seminars

Educational game »From paper-based to paperless production«

  • Educational game »From paper-based to paperless production«

In the learning factory for networked production (LVP), digitization in customized product assembly is brought to life. As a participant, you will assemble remote-controlled cars in three rounds with an ascending level of digitization and compare how digitization affects different work areas and economic targets.

You will experience technologies such as RFID, digital work instructions or production planning services in a combination of short knowledge sessions and hands-on and reflection rounds.

Also generate ideas of application for your business!

    Contents of the educational game

    • Potentials of paperless production: from order slips to electronic store floor data collection to automatic order recognition with assembly instructions on the tablet.
    • Overview of relevant topics and technologies of Industry 4.0: Lean Management 4.0, Auto-ID, digital store floor management, digital quality assurance, assistance systems and others.

    Advantages for the participants

    • You recognize that digitization is not an end in itself and that, when used in a targeted manner, it brings transparency and other significant benefits.
    • You will experience how data transparency can help you respond more quickly to customer inquiries, increase productivity, and control production based on key figures.
    • You will learn how role models and communication in production can change.

Seminars on additive manufacturing

  • Seminars on additive manufacturing

Additive manufacturing processes, also known colloquially as »3D printing«, open up a wide range of new possibilities in the design of products and their manufacture. Actively using these new design possibilities for one's own products is the key to realizing innovations using additive processes. This requires specialists who have comprehensive knowledge of additive technologies.

Various seminars are available for those who are interested in becoming fit for additive technologies and further compact training. From the basics of additive manufacturing to the in-depth discussion on laser beam melting and special topics such as powder safety, a wide range of training topics are covered. Furthermore, companies can secure exclusive runs of the training modules, in which company-specific focal points can also be set.

The seminars are conducted by experienced experts on-site at Fraunhofer IGCV, at the customer's premises or virtually. The combination of theoretically based and high practical content in the laboratory enables students to develop an in-depth understanding of additive technology.

    Contents of the seminars

    • Basics of additive manufacturing: Which additive manufacturing processes exist and how do they differ from conventional manufacturing processes?
    • Business models and implementation of additive manufacturing in the company: How can additive manufacturing be used profitably in your company?
    • Individual focus possible: Design for AM, powder safety, implementation and much more.
    • When conducted at Fraunhofer IGCV, the theoretical learning content is supplemented by practical exercises in additive manufacturing equipment laboratories.

    Advantages for the participants

    • You will receive an overview of all additive manufacturing processes, their advantages and disadvantages and possible application areas.
    • After the seminar, you will be able to make initial assessments of how additive manufacturing processes can be used in your company.
    • Through practical exercises you will experience additive manufacturing up close.
  • Costs
