ForNextGen ForNextGen - Generative manufacturing processes in tool and mold making
Flexibilization of additive manufacturing for the production of function-optimized tool and mold inserts
Examples include multi-material tool molds and inserts with long-term resistant coatings to increase tool life
In the example on the left: In an injection molding tool train, a base body made of 1,2709 tool steel is constructed and coated with CCZ (copper) in two different component areas to improve heat dissipation. These internal cooling structures made of highly thermally conductive materials improve the heat balance and thus reduce the cycle time.
