First Hand Feedback

Hülya Maktav

Hülya Maktav has been working in Human Resources at Fraunhofer IGCV since 2019. Among other things, she ensures that students are recruited and provided with all-round support. She is also responsible for managing vacation requests and sick days. »What I like most about my work is the interaction with colleagues in general and especially in the administration department, where a great team is working very closely and harmoniously together. The »students« area of responsibility brings new, challenging topics with it every day. This makes my work varied and interesting. In addition, the working conditions, such as working hours, are right and I can freely shape my working day

Oliver Holzmann

Oliver Holzmann had already been at iwb for 10 years when the Fraunhofer RMV project group was formed in 2009 for what would later become Fraunhofer IGCV. As IT group manager, he and his team support all employees at Fraunhofer IGCV and ensure that the server infrastructure grows with the institute. »I enjoy working with lots of young people and being directly involved in research in an innovative environment. For example, I develop test rigs together with my colleagues and integrate them into the network. Or we try out new processes and applications. The nice thing is that the atmosphere at Fraunhofer IGCV has always been informal and I hope it will stay that way.«

Dr.-Ing. Manuel Pintore

After training in an iron foundry, Manuel Pintore studied materials science at the University of Bayreuth. As a research assistant at the utg chair at TUM, he contributed to the founding of Fraunhofer IGCV and the establishment of the Casting Technology department. He has been working at Fraunhofer IGCV himself since 2018 and is responsible for casting processes, materials science and occupational safety. »I am currently working with other research partners on the development of new types of aluminum alloys. Here at Fraunhofer IGCV, I like the fact that I take on a variety of tasks - this includes organizing as well as analytical and theoretical or experimental work.«

Abishek Bose

Abishek Bose completed his bachelor's degree at BBIT (Budge Budge Institute of Technology, Kolkata, India) and is now doing his master's degree at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. He is writing his thesis at Fraunhofer IGCV on the topic of Additive Manufacturing of Medical Devices - Powder for Laser Powder Bed Fusion. »At Fraunhofer IGCV, I was able to gain first-hand work experience in the German work culture. I also gained insights into various industries and valuable technical knowledge about different machines - for example the SLM 125 HL and Aconity one - as well as various measurement techniques.«

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Iman Taha

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Iman Taha received her doctorate from Clausthal University of Technology, Clausthal-Zellerfeld and has been working at Fraunhofer IGCV since 2014. She is responsible for the development of material systems and testing methods. »I am currently focusing on two topics in particular: How can thermoset-based fiber composites be flexibly additively manufactured? And what does it take to develop suitable joining technologies for metal CFRP components? Cross-departmental collaboration and a lively exchange with colleagues are particularly valuable when it comes to questions like these. And in general, the exciting thing about my work is exchanging ideas with colleagues from other areas and working on interdisciplinary topics - for industry as well as for the research landscape.«

Maximilian Kleber and Tobias Fritz

Maximilian Kleber has been training as an industrial mechanic since September 2019, while his colleague Tobias Fritz has been able to call himself one since January 2020. Despite the three-year difference in knowledge, they both agree on one thing: »It's really fun to work at a research institute. We get lots of different orders, for example manufacturing parts for test set-ups. Sometimes that includes large, complex plates. And you can talk to everyone normally, regardless of whether they are direct colleagues, foremen or scientists.«

Jasmina Filipetz

»My interest in an apprenticeship at Fraunhofer was aroused as soon as I finished school, as the world of research fascinates me immensely. So I was all the more delighted when I came across the Fraunhofer IGCV job advertisement in IT after completing my training. Fraunhofer IGCV offers me exactly what I was looking for: a variety of tasks, constant learning opportunities, a pleasant working atmosphere and close proximity to research. I particularly appreciate the respectful interaction between colleagues and the freedom to go my own way without letting any prejudices slow me down. Thanks to Fraunhofer IGCV, I have the opportunity to fully develop my passion for IT.«
