Initial situation and problem

Due to the striving for improving the products, the requirements for the constructive design and layout of modern components rises constantly. Complex components, which on the one hand have to be designed cost-effectively but should at the same time guarantee sufficient safety can best be represented in the product development process by means of simulations.

Procedure

We at the Fraunhofer IGCV continue to develop various CAE tools in order to push the limits further and create new simulation tools for areas not yet covered. The validation of simulation results by experiments is also one of our central approaches. In addition, material models and physical input variables for simulations are also determined experimentally.
